A simple church from the 12th century in an incomparable setting. The picture below left suggests a rural location, but it isn't - in fact, it is quite difficult to reconcile that picture with picture of of the simple facade on the right. Those bells have a legend attached to them; it is said that they spontaneously rang as St Francis lay dying. |
