Astorga | |
On to Astorga, another city with ancient
roots – founded by the Romans c 14 BC. There are impressive Roman walls
remaining. The main sight - yet another magnificent Gothic cathedral.
Nearby was the bishop’s palace, designed by Gaudi and built in the
1890s. Very grand, but, in true Gaudi style, perhaps just a little over
the top. |
